Super champ xd speaker change
Take heed if anyone owns this little amp and wants to change out the speaker. The speaker screws that come with it, may be to short to support some of the eminence speakers. I ran into this problem tonight as I was replacing the speaker with an Eminence Ragin Cajun. I know this is a small detail but its a frustrater after you pull it all apart, to find out it ain't gonna work. it looks like the screws need to be about a 1/4" longer. Most good hardware stores should be able to help you out if you take one of the screws with you. be sure to get the screws with proper threads.
ok found the screws needed to be 10/32x1" . found em at a local lowes hardware store.
also have found that the Eminence Ragin Cajun changes the nature of this little beast away from the sweet fender sound into more of a mesa sound on the clean but it does quite well on th OD second channel.
I think I would have liked the Eminence Copperhead better as it is supposed to have a fender flavor. I guess you live and learn, so beware, if you like its sound as is don't think you will improve it with a Ragin Cajun.
