    What's on your pedalboard?

I saw this on the other board. What's currently on your pedalboard?

    TU-2
    Crybaby
    Phase-90
    Fulldrive II (mosfet)
    MT-2
    DD-6

    Re: What's on your pedalboard?

Fab distortion and a Boss ce-1 super chorus or Danelectro cool cat.

    Or..

just my Behringer X V-Amp multi effects pedal. :toobad

2 chorus pedals??? one was a gift
They both have their nice points, so i alternate. I find the cool cat a tad warmer and simpler to use, it eats 2 9 volts at a time, and the modulation sweep (the wah wah wah) is not very smooth. The ce-1 is versatile, and smooth, but invites too much tweaking.

Tube Screamer TS9DX, Boss DS-1, and soon a Boss DD-3 (it's still on police hold until next Tuesday. Then its MINE!).

I also be adding a phaser and a compressor. Thinking of BYOC.

    Re: What's on your pedalboard?

I need to show my wife a picture like that, mmcquain. My habit is small time compared to that. Impressive, most impressive.

I've got a couple pedals that I don't use but currently the lineup is:

    Electro-Harmonix Mini Qtron
Fulltone Fulldrive 2 (flat mids era)
    Electro-Harmonix 10 band EQ

and that's it! I'd like to incorporate a fuzz into there. Just need to find the right one. My Crybaby is kaput right now too for some reason. I suspect the switch is wonky.
    s'all goof.

    TU-2
    Keeley Fuzz Head
    Xotic RC Booster
    Crowther Hot Cake
    CE-5
    Powered by Dunlop Brick

My Keeley Compressor, TS9, BD2, stock OD3 and Barber Direct Drive SS get rotated in occasionally but above are the usual suspects. The Fuzz Head into the RC Booster gives great touch sensitive blues lead tone.

Ha Ha, Thanks! I know what you mean as I tell my wife "but honey, I need it..." :rofl

Actually this board is the result of going "full circle" in that many years ago I was an F/X junkie and then I went "simple" (just an overdrive) and then I tried the multieffects units (Korg and Digitech) but I got sick of having to bend down and twiddle knobs (and/or get out the manual to figure out the stupid thing) so I went back to using separate effect pedals... and it just grew from there until I think I now have about 1 of everything (and 2 of some!)

I never would have dreamed it but playing at church I was amazed at how many effects you use - even though I never use more than maybe 2 (e.g., pitch and distortion) on any one song. However, just at tonight's practice for Sunday I used chorus on a song, tremolo on another, phase on another and played clean on 2 and distortion on the rest. It's like my Wah, only use it on one song out of over 100 praise/worship songs we know. But on that one song it really adds to the sound. Anyway, I think I've bagged my limit on pedals (and I'd break my back if I added anymore weight to that beast of a board).

Now, I think I need a CS-356 to go with my Strat, Paul and acoustic. "But honey I need it..."

    Re: What's on your pedalboard?

    Nope, No Tuner.

But I do have bandmates that have tuners!
Some of them even use them.
My drums stay in pretty good tune but i usually check them prior to a gig anyway, just to be sure, and safe.

I HATE TUNING MY GUITAR with those dang digital tuners! I never feel like I can trust them. I wish I had the dough for that little Peterson pedal tuner.

My dirty little secret is that I try to get Swanky to tune at least a couple of my guitars...since I usually bring 3, and I get pretty flighty before gigs and often forget to tune.

I tried one of those at NAMM. Maybe it was just the room, but it seemed waaaay to touchy for live use.

[note to folks - never have a "hands on" display of anything at a trade show, unless it's completely idiot proof]

I use a TU-2 in "strobe" mode. Never had an issue, unless I was playing outdoors, where the LEDs get washed out. They rock!

    Re: What's on your pedalboard?

I need a pedal board, tuner and power supply.

Right now I use a Fat bastard, Fulltone '69, modded Vox Wah, TS-808 clone, DD-80 digital delay, AD-9 delay and an H&K Rotosphere in that order, although I might try the Fat Bastard a little later in the chain.

I'm using George L's cables and the constant plugging and unplugging makes them less reliable.

Once you get used to it, a peterson is every bit as easy as another tuner. You just move the tuner key less. ;)

Maybe the guitar they had for the demo stunk, but when you hit the string to see where it was, it seemed to warble in and out of tune, like a floyd rose thing.

Any way you cut it, Peterson had a crappy display, and 'unsold' me on their product. Somebody who wanted to believe in it.

Maybe I'll have better luck trying it out at GC. :lol

Yeah, OSA and Swanky rule. I drool.

I prefer to tune by ear, but in front of a crowd, pushing big SPLs, is not the time to play the ancient chinese song, Too-Ning.

    Re: What's on your pedalboard?

    I look at some of these boards and get dizzy. I couldn't remember that may pedals. Besides, at my age I could break a hip tap dancing on them. Very cool, though; and I think I may have owned most of those at one time or another. Very simple rig these days;

TU2 Tuner, Ibanez TS9, Crybaby wah and Echopark

There's a slim chance I might add a rotating speaker effect if I can find the right one. I like the sound of a Leslie, but I'm not going to cart one around with me and the stages in Florida clubs are frequently pretty small so it is beneficial to be as compact as possible.

All are in the signal path (yes, I know... need a some type of switch/looper... maybe one day). I go from guitar to pedal board to direct box to mixer at church. We're all direct now except for 1 guy's amp (and he'll probably go direct one day). We just had way too much problem with stage volume (very live room with rock walls, glass, etc.), even the drums are electronic (Roland V-Drums but with real cymbols). Band all plays with in-ear monitors except the drummer and singers.

They suck the life out of batteries in no time. I'm about to buy a power strip and actually make a pedal board bust because of this thing's appetite.

The HellBilly rocks, doesn't it? Here's mine: Ernie Ball Vol/Strobostomp >>> Vox Wah >>> ToneFactor Hellbilly >>> Barber Tone Press.

I want to add a Cusack Tap-A-Whirl, a BYOC delay, and a BYOC Tri-Boost to act as a line buffer at the end of the chain (or as a germanium boost), and maybe switchout the Tone Press for JangleBox. :spin

Man, this reminds me that I need to get a pedal board! At any rate, I have a:
    1. Boss DS1
    2. Crybaby "original"
    3. Boss PH3
    4. Bespeco volume pedal
    5. Digitech Digidelay
I've been bitten by the compressor "bug". I'm saving up for a Pro Tone "Kompressor".

    Re: What's on your pedalboard?

Fender PT-10 Tuner > Marshal ED-1 Compressor > DOD Ice Box Chorus > DOD Phaser > Guyatone Micro Flanger > Boss RV-3 Digital Delay & Reverb.

I also have a K&K Pure Preamp that I can add before the tuner if I'm using the board with any of 4 Martins that have K&K Pure Passive Pickups or Martin Thinline Passive Pickups.

I have a really old Crybaby that I will add off to the side if I'm feeling groovy.
The Marshall Compressor gets swapped for the MXR DynaComp every now and then and I have an old Ibanez Analog Delay that gets swapped for the Boss RV-3.

I have an SKB 6 pedal board/power supply. I like the SKB design.

Had a chance to "gig" the AF-9 at open mic last night. Lots of fun, but really only a couple of usable settings.

I used to use an original issue SD-9 before it developed bypass issues (bleedthrough). I should try one out again.

I don't know anything about the Strobostomp plastic jacks. Well, I didn't, anyway.

    Re: What's on your pedalboard?

Hey... did I miss something? This past weekend I had a horrible glitch with my Strobostomp where it suddenly sent this horrible short-out noise to my amp. I isolated the problem as the input jack--and YES, it is plastic. I tried to tighten down the nut only to find it the threads were so stripped as to be shaved away.

Is this an ongoing issue with these that I missed? And... how do I correct it?

MJM London Fuzz, V847, Blues Devil, BadMonkey, or TS9/808 sometimes, CE2, Digitech delay, and A/B switch to tuner. Oh and once in a while that Distortion + gets a workout.
