My first Sunday Mornin' Thread in a while
So we're supposed to get rain today (and Mon-Tues) and I'm using it as an excuse not to do the lawn. I had a exhausting week last week, so I have little ambition to do anything but be lazy today. Since the wife has been out of work money is a bit harder to come by and the insurance company is jerking us around on her long-term insurance. Oh well, my Guild F-47 RC is calling to me - it needs some quality time.:Banjo:
Re: My first Sunday Mornin' Thread in a while
Good morning. Summer semester starts tomorrow, and I've got to get all the paperwork ready and prep for the first week. Then, jamming with a friend late afternoon.
I did yard work in the light rain yesterday, and it was not unpleasant. I'm going to get out there again today whether or not it rains. Trying to find joy in my postage stamp of nature.

Nick, I got the Mustangarosa cut yesterday. Got a little rain during the process but not enough to gum up the works. Had to learn three new songs in the AM and since we're getting the weather you'll be seeing soon I spent some time in the workshop puttering on my model airplanes.
Got a Sunday night gig...yech...so I'll be heading out in a bit.

Chuck, you haven't added anything about a Rochester Jam... am I to assume it's been delayed?
Re: My first Sunday Mornin' Thread in a while
Going thru some major band drama right now. Even if we can make it through the next 24 hours, I think I'm done with the nonsense.

Nick, there's just not enough interest. Seems like the days of the Fender Jams are past. Too bad, we had the magic bus tour and a lot of other laughs. Remember the cakes?
Re: My first Sunday Mornin' Thread in a while
day 2 of a rainy spell, I was working on an ad for my custom shop strat (avatar) and totally spaced on coming in here for a coffee thread. went to a friend's house for a 'cook out' that became a 'cook in' because the grill probably drowned from excess moisture. Tried swapping tanks, could not even get gas smell let alone light it.
got all my lawn mowing done before the rains, good thing. supposed to rain more tomorrow. be very lush green and wet to mow wednesday. I'm becoming a suburban cliche, sigh.
Re: My first Sunday Mornin' Thread in a while
The weekend was slow for me but the rain has dissipated considerably. I did manage to semi-repair my old car and it now has A/C for the most part. When it stops blowing, I stop, lift the hood, and jiggle a ground wire to the blower and it's back on for the most part. Sunday was dryer and in the evening, as it was cooling down, I went to do some mowing. And true to form, yet another piece of mechanical failure hit me in the face. The mower deck could not be engaged. Belt's fine. Something in the safety switch or linkage.... The lighting in my shop (a small building out back) has failed too. Can't quite figure that one out as I think it's waterlogged too! Typical for me. Nothing works right for me anymore. I do believe that the older I get the more things go wrong....
Makes me wonder what's next?:hmm
Re: My first Sunday Mornin' Thread in a while
Twas a pretty busy weekend - sorry just getting round to this -
Sound and ran Jam thursday - Had a sound gig Friday night -Had a JuJu gig saturday (outside stage at a crab house venue) and sunday did sound at the same venue for young artists (13-14 year olds) some of you may have seen some of it posted on my FB page. i worked with them a lot on stage, and they did really well. It was pretty cool - two of the parents came up and thanked me, and told me how much the kids enjoyed it, and can't wait to do it again.
I was stoked that I may have played even the smallest part in their progression. It was a good sunday! Show was over at 8 pm - I was packed and payed by 8.30, home by 9 pm - and then -
I TOOK MONDAY OFF as my sunday - so I could cut grass, finnish getting the pool cleaned, and go to the store!
Also had a friend stop by and help me waste 3 hours, sitting, drinking coffee, playing every guitar in the house, and then we grabbed a late lunch - his treat.
THAT was something I haven't done in a LONG time - a VERY good sunday for me!
