The First Sunday of September
Up since 3:30 this morning and held off posting this thread. It’s supposed to be an upper 90° day here today so I think I’ll be spending some time in an air-conditioned restaurant having my usual Sunday morning breakfast with friends.
Hope all have a great Sunday and Labir Day.
Re: The First Sunday of September
A warm day predicted here (and the next several days). This is the end of my two-week vacation. Back to work on Tuesday. We had an eventful couple weeks - visitng my birth family near Nashville, celebreating my 70th (or 71st) birthday and getting a new car for Mrs. Junkie (Subaru Outback). I'm ready to go back to work and relax!!!
Think we'll take the new buggy for a spin - lot's of new technology to learn. This thing practically drives itself. Then I need to work on a new tune. I had the original idea for the song around 1993 but it sat in my head, unheard so far. In a couple weeks we're going to record it at the studio. I'm pretty excited - it felt like a good song before, but I just came up with a bridge that may transform it to great (at least in my mind).
Meanwhile, I'm in a borrowed office as the section of the buidling I'm housed in is getting a new tenant and I'm relocating. I understand, that while I've been out, they tore down all the walls in the soon-to-be new space and they'll start framing my new office this week. It will be strange having a new office after using the old one for around 25 years.
Also planning on finding someone who can put new speakers in my Mustang. The factory stuff sounds like cra@p and I enjoy listening to music too much to continue the way I've been going. Not looking to sound like an A hole with distortion and BOOM - just more accurate sounds.
Have a great week!

if you can hear the radio in your Mustang, you're not doing it right.

Re: The First Sunday of September
dang near forgot about it's sunday. yep, getting warm here as well. i haven't been outside much the last 2+ months, mostly I just try to keep the house cool enough for my brother when he's here and try to no freeze myself in the process. I actually had the heat on a couple nights last week.
After I posted last week, my brother texted me and asked if I knew which way my nephew (his son) was playing guitar these days. Last I knew he was still trying righty. I said to bro that it was too bad I didn't know any lefty players who could help me pick out a really good guitar for the lad, that my old Squier CV50 Telecaster was a great guitar and tough as nails and I could loan it to him. 5 minutes later I get a "thank you" text from the nephew. Uh-oh, I just gave away a guitar.
I spent all afternoon and a significant % of the evening doing a last recording session with it. Chances are I'll never see the guitar again. I'm already looking for its replacement, LOL. Which is crazy because I have a swamp ash MJT body that I bought at least 5 years ago that I never built, and I have all the parts I need.
This thursday I see the surgeon who operated on my hip. I need to stress the point of my knee's issues caused by the manipulation of my leg during surgery and the changed geometry it faces due to the shortened femur. I've had to cease my extra curricular walking due to pain in the knee, the hip is fine. Hopefully I'll get to forgo the hip protocols I've been living with for the last 2.5 months. I'm gaining strength but have weaknesses that are being revealed by PT. As we find them, we get new exercises to work on those areas. I'm getting increasingly convinced that the right knee is going to need work done on it in the not too distant future. Preferably before the onset of winter.

Had a bass gig Thursday and Saturday. Today was church, a bit of F1, but mainly focused on my wife as it’s her BDay. Had a nice dinner out and relaxing. Tomorrow she is going shopping and I’ll be getting more familiar with the Helix unit I got for upstairs and the Gretsch Penguin I got Friday.

Beautiful day here. Hot, but low humidity. Very nice.
26 mile bicycle ride this morning bring my summer total up to 940 miles. Only 60 miles left to go! Then I'll move the goal to 1200 miles, LOL
Went to a "big deck party" at a friends house. Great food. Good times.
Looking forward to see the recording I have of MotoGP tomorrow. No spoilers please!
Finally decided to give up the band and stop gigging. Time to start planning my musical tag sale. Guitars, amps, and stuff. From cheap to steep! LOL
