aye. I delete their emails after only the most cursory glance at them. I could spend thousands there easily. I have spent a small fortune there already. But I don't want to unsubscribe because I get ideas and file them away for future references.

This might be guitar-related:
2018 Fender American Original '50s Stratocaster. Very nice guitar.

Now *that's* what I'm talkin' about!
:appl::appl::appl:
I wish I could figure out how to capture the see-through nature of the blonde finish of this one. Just stunning. Maybe when I have a little more time to mess with lighting & angles I will try again. Pretty flamey neck, too
That was gonna be my next question.....transparent blonde or Oly White?
What a stunning instrument!
:salud:
Oh it is stunning, all right. I am absolutely knocked out by it. The neck has a 9.5" radius, which is very different to me. I didn't know if I would like it, seeing that I am old & set in my ways about what I like. It is a whole new ballgame now.

So nice, man. Love that finish.
TI flats for the jazz carton coming via UPS on Tuesday.
Mr Postman look and see
if there’s a jazz box delivery…
Nifty little "bank bag" for all the tags & such, & check out the figured wood in that neck!

brilliant move on Fender's part on the bank bag.
I had a custom shop '58 hardtail in transparent white blonde, it was a stunner, and 5 lbs 15 ounces. If I recall correctly, it was a 7.25 radius. I didn't hate it but I'd probably would have preferred 9.5. Guess I'm a little set in my ways as well. Sold it because I needed money, before I got the disability payments going. I think I had a Robert Cray neck on it for a while, now that was some nice playing fun.
Looks like there is both the MIM Robert Cray neck and a CS Robert Cray Signature neck, 9.5" and 12" respectively. I had the former.
5 lbs 15 oz?! That's a keeper right there in my book. My guitar buddy & I have had lengthy discussions about guitars & weight, & we agree: all things being equal, lighter guitars sound better. He says they sound "dry". I call them "potato chip" guitars because they are light like a potato chip & they have a crisp quality to their sound.
This could be debated, like many things, & maybe it deserves its own thread; but I'll put up with a lot of features that I think are less desirable if a guitar is unusually light.
If I remember correctly, it went to North Carolina or someplace Atlantic seaboard near there.
in my old backyard a few years before I sold it. I sometimes wonder if I'd ever offer the current owner a choice of my two Les Pauls, would I have the guts to do it. Either way, I'd end up in two stupendous guitars.

Gorgeous of course!

Here's mine......

Essentially a Mary Kay with a tortoise-shell PG. The translucent white finish is yellowing quite nicely.
that is seriously nice:appl::headbange
Guitar strings. Ha!
A set of Martin Acoustic Strings for my little Yamaha pint size guitar. .012 set.
I'm putting together a second pedal chain, all Hendrix-style.
Basically it's a Fulltone Octafuzz and a Fulltone Deja Vibe which was a gift from our dear friend Willie.
I just ordered a Morley Mini Classic Wah to go with those two.
https://www.morleyproducts.com/wp-co...CHLESS-WAH.jpg
Since the Morley Wah is 9v center negative, the Octafuzz is 9v center positive and the Deja Vibe is 18v, I can't just daisy chain them all together. I am also gonna purchase an isolated power supply that I can use to power all this stuff together.
I gained 9 pounds yesterday!
I tried some new Les Pauls at GC. A Standard '50s neck, a Classic, a satin Traditional, and a Studio. I didn't like any of them. They all had tiny frets and the quality wasn't great. I decided then that I wanted one with big ass frets and it'd be even better of the frets went over the binding. So this is what I ended up with. Some odd features, but it's a damn nice guitar!

Very nice looking guitar. 2014?
Missing tone knob or a coil-tap switch?
Yes. Could you tell by the anniversary banner?
I avoided Classics due to the skinny neck, green inlays and hot ceramic pickups. Well, it turns out that the skinny neck is wide (1.70" at the nut) and has broad shoulders so it doesn't feel skinny, and when they reintroduced the "Classic" name they used regular color inlays and alnico magnet pickups (not that I couldn't change the pickups).
It's a switch for a 15db boost. That stuff's coming out. Not because I mind the PCB or the boost, but because I really, really, really like so called '50s wiring. I suppose I could cut some traces and add some jumpers and do that with the PCB and boost intact, but it'll be easier to replace it. Maybe Ill leave it with three knobs and use the switch hole for a phase switch.
A matched pair of spare NOS tubes…

those tubes will last you decades. were they local as in country? I was on a tube buying frenzy about 10-12 years ago. I have some 3 or 4 matched sets of NOS 6V6s, a sleeve of JAN NOS 12AX7 and maybe a rectifier tube or two. At some point, I need to go through every box, tray, drawer, storage bin and find out what I have.
apart from a new computer, I haven't bought anything in a while. I may need to seek medical attention soon, this is so unlike me.:spin:
Forgot to post this last week when they ame in, but I finally got around to getting new power tubes for my Boogie Rocket.
JJs, the relatively cheap ones. I'm not going to spend a fortune on that amp. My '75 Marshall JMP, I'm splurge when the time comes, same with my '66 Vibro-Champ...
But I forgot that the clean on that Boogie is pretty damn good. I'm not as big a fan of Boogie distortions - the mid always seems scooped, even with it up, and I like my midrange, but even there it's good enough for a jam session, and that amp is loud enough to keep up with about anything.
I just finished up a wall-hanger Strat for my sister and discovered that I'd neglected to pick up a bridge cover for it so I ordered one this afternoon. She was here last summer and fell in love with my '56 clone in Taos Turquoise so that's the color she's getting. Aftermarket body and rosewood neck (Allparts) with everything else genuine Fender which came from my parts bin. I'll post some pics of the completed guitar later.
So this arrived today. I've been intrigued by these since they came out, and though this amp should suit me well, I've have had mixed results when demoing them. Still, I was obsessed with them and looking for a used one that didn't cost as much as a new one and this one popped up in an awesome color at a decent price!
I think it'd look cool with cupcake radio knobs.

The Fillmores and the California Tweed are kinda the anti Boogie Mesa amps (while still being very Boogie-like). From what I understand, this amp is based on the Fender 5F6A Bassman, so the tone stack is very late in the preamp, plus the amp only adds a single gain stage in the Drive and Hi modes.
I meant to say the check out my new Gibson amp! This amp was built in March 2021 so it was after Gibson bought the company. I doubt that'll affect the quality of the amp. Maybe the amp's long term value, but I didn't buy it for that.
My most recent Mesa amps had Magnetic Components transformers. They've gone out of business and this amp has Schumachers.
I believe the basic circuitry is similar in the 25, 50 and 100. The 25 is an 18 watt amp. The 50 is a 40 watt amp. The 25 has pretty small iron. Well made, though. To be honest, I'm the kind of driver who likes to rev the hell out of a small engine. That translates to my guitar playing as well.
It seems fine, though I won't really know until I try it with a band. The master volume taper is real nice. Not too sensitive down low and it continues to get louder past noon. If anything, the Fillmore 25s and 50s that I've played seem a little tame by Mesa standards.
Regarding Mesas being loud for their ratings, I've had a Budda Twinmaster and a few Dr. Zs, and they give the feeling of being louder than a Mesa for a given power rating. A lot of that has to do with the mids and how an amp stands out in a band. Also, with the Dr. Zs, they're almost at full volume with the master at noon.
This amp suits me a lot better than the Mark Five:25 I used to own!
Nothing says "art deco" like a custom color Stratocaster.
The bridge cover arrived yesterday but it didn't fit snug enough for my liking so I had to tweak it a bit by tapping the sides several times with a nylon mallet. Not sure what the problem was but the cover didn't fit any of my other Strats either -- perhaps Fender's tooling is getting tired. I also put a skosh more bend into the trem arm since the angle was too extreme for comfort.
watch this space !!
Potential purchase probable.
Afraid to jinx myself but I'm pretty excited.
