I'm revisiting Neil Young live.

Re: The Official TFF "what are you listening to?" thread
I'm listening to an episode of "The Blue Bus," a radio program that originates in Maui and is reposted weekly on Mixcloud. This week's episode features (in a modest sort of way) Eric Clapton. The current track I'm listening to is "Genesis," by Hot Tuna.

The last couple of days I`ve been digging on "Into the Mystic". The ABB version. Warren Haynes and Derrick Trucks! Lately revisiting Big Head Todd and the monsters too!

By the way, the first song on this album has the greatest guitar tone ever recorded.

Many different versions of Voodoo Chile (slight return). I'm working on that song and am trying to gather ideas to build my own solo.

Yeah, as I recall, the original vinyl release was a double-LP. Which means there were only about seven tracks total (although three of them were extended jams lasting 10-20 minutes on average).

i've got the lp version of the concert on disc, one disc if I recall correctly. I wonder if that six disc set was the entire run (2 or 3 nights, IIRC).

Man, do I love this group! I first heard the single track, side 4 of this double album while driving in my car. Its title is "Freedom," and as was the case during this time, many albums featured a single song that allowed solos from each band member to showcase their talents. The solo, "scat" singing of the vocalist reminded me a lot of Lou Rawls. It turns out the singer was Bill Champlin, for whom the group was named.
Many of you may know that Champlin became the vocalist for Chicago for many years. But the Sons, as they were affectionately known, were always his "first" band. Champlin was also a guitar player and keyboardist. Someone who could "do it all."
A great album, in my opinion.
