What are your favorite effects for your Strat?

    For your consideration...

    Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face

Rogey Mayer Octavio (later re-named Octavia)

    Vox Imperial Wah
    Vox Clyde Wah
    Fulltone Clyde Wah

    Univox Uni-Vibe
    Fulltone Dejavibe or Dejavibe 2

The Univibe is still my absolute favorite Strat effect... Only way to get anything close to what Hendrix did and what Trower did (and still does) although even he uses a Dejavibe these days

Here's a cool link to Jimi Hendrix's effects...

    1. A chromatic tuner.

    2. Reverb in a blackface Fender or Sixties Ampeg amp. When using reverbless amps, I'm fine with the EH Holy Grail's simulation of said effect.

    Pedal Pusher

    Barber Dual Unit
    Barber Direct Drive
    Barber Edgehog
    Teese RMC3
    Fulltone DejaVibe 2
    Fulltone ChoralFlange
    Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face
    Prescription Electronics Experience
    E-bow

P.S. My Strats handle effects better than all my other guitars; anyone else get the same results?

My Diaz Square Face fuzz. I've also had great results with my newly acquired Maxon OD808.

I think the Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive works great with Strats. When you roll in the clean knob, that extra definition really stands out, more so than with HB guits.

Generally a three-knob Chandler tube driver (high volume, low distortion, middle eq), and sometimes a little compression (Boss CE2), depending on the amp.
5E3 Deluxe, '74 hardtail, Strat XII, many copies.

Voodoo Lab Sparkledrive gets my vote . I also rate the ZVEX SHO as an indispensible component to my tone. There are a ton of great pedals for Strats...it just depends on what ya'll lookin' for.

Another vote for the Fulltone Fuldrive 2. With a Strat and a Fender amp, it is pure tone heaven!

    Clapton Strat-

    MXR DynaComp- (light compression)
Fulltone Fulldrive II- (light overdrive - heavier boost)
Boss Blues Driver (set on bass side w/medium dist.)
Fulltone Soulbender- (medium setting for radical Fuzz)
Fulltone Coralflange- (medium, SLOW chorus... subtle)
Boss RV-3 Reverb/Delay- (light delay with 1 slapback)
Morley Volume/Wah- (Volume, rare wah use)

I'm always changing my pedal board, but these pedals always make my pedal borad to cover most of the Roadhouse Blues, Classic Rock, Surf and Country tunes we play.

I play these into a Fender 65' twin reverb reissue, Fender Blues Deluxe, or a 79 Marshall JMP 2150/ Marshall 1936 2x12" cab... mic into the PA.

(also great with Les Paul w/P-90 pickups)

    1. Reverb. I have a songworks Little Lanelli on my pedal board (real springs). And I am in the process of scoring a tube reverb unit for when I have more room on a stage.

    2. My neck on switch on my strat. It's not just an on switch, it puts them in seris. People can't believe that sound.

    3. A fulltone fat boost just for a little extra body on low volume gigs.

    4. Fulltone supa trem. Too cool for words

    5. My hands

    6. My blackfaced Deluxe reverb and Virbrolux reverb. (tone! mmmmmmmmmm)

    Weber MASS

Allows me to crank my 5E3 clone and keep the volume at bedroom level with nothing but a cable between the Strat and amp.

If I do want reverb/delay, my old Boss DM-2.

Extreme loudness. :bug It sounds so good, I don't use any other effects for fear of ruining that one.

    Cheers!

    Hi there!

    I use
FT Ultimate Octave Fuzz (in the bright mode with volume full up and almost no gain)
    VoodooLab Sparkle Drive & Microvibe
    VoxWah (some mods)
    H&K Tube Factor

I take care of the Hendrix Stuff with the UO, the SRV stuff with the Sparkle Drive and can dial in very fat Robin Trower sounds with the Tube factor in Factor 2 and full mid boost.

    Direct to You

Please, people, check out that Barber Direct Drive! It's a $99 boutique pedal! If you want to "Marshallize your tone - classic 100 watt Marshall - this is it. If you want some 808, this is it. If you want an OD pedal that cleans up w/ fat boost, this is it. I've had mine for about a month and it is still amazing me. There is no pedal out there like this. Mike Fuller doesn't have it (and I think the world of his pedals), Jeff Bober doesn't, Klon, Menatone, etc....

Barber has a good return policy; if you don't like it, send it back in good condition for your $. I don't know if this pedal is on his web site, yet; it wasn't when I got mine. Call him if it's not.

Fender Floyd Rose Classic Strat--> wah---> voodoo lab Overdrive (not sparkle drive)--> phase 90--->DSL100 Marshall w/Rocktron Intellifex in the loop.

I have and sometimes use other effects, but these are the important ones to me. I have a Yellow Fulldrive II, and an Ibanez original TS808, but I actually prefer the Voodoo lab OD (at least with the DSL). And you can get them used for about $50!! true bypass, 2 knobs, Big FAT tone, pounding the input of your amp! I have a Dunlop 535 (not the "Q" model) and it sounds pretty good in the low-mid position, but I'd really like to try a RMC3 someday soon. The phase90 is just a basic pedal, nothing special features wise, but it just does beautiful things to a clean or driven strats tone, IMO. For rack stuff, The intellifex (V1, blackface) is pretty cool, clean, and transparent. Very crisp sounding delay and reverbs... the rest come from the guitar, amp and the player! ;)
