shine yer lite, my dear. you WILL melt hearts, you WILL cause impressionable young men to forsake all the thangs thier mommas taught them, you MIGHT even get rode out of town on a rail as a shameless hussy and corrupter of youth (that you clearly are)!!!DAMN, that sounds like fun!!
A) You don't suck.
B) You got a great arse.
C) Wrinkles are the wisdom of advanced youth.
But yeah, I blinkin' hate auditions too.
A friend in need is a good reason to screen your calls.
They are the ones auditioning.
If they're good enough, maybe you'll do some gigs with them
If you leave the house, you're just asking for it.
Aw, c'mon, Annie.
You know you're cool.
And you knew we'd tell you so. *smooch*
Right!

You know what song you should play at the audition? That one about the cat. You know the one.......:wink
No neck, no problem
Where have u been, Li'l Angel? (the cat song on a B-3, or whatever it wuz, is useless this time, baby.)
You can appreciate this, it's classical and he's a grand pooh-bah cellist.

I'm I the only one who has absolutely no clue what you talk about in your posts?
I think you are.
Annie, I'm kinda going through a similar thing right now, as I'm trying to join a band in my area. It's been a while since i've played with other musicians, so I find myself wondering the same things, well not about the wrinkles or ass part, but you know... what if I get nervous and completely blow the whole thing...
I think if you're good, they'll know.
Boy was I barking up the wrong tree. Wrong Michael Reynolds. This gize a singer-strummer and that I CAN do. We'll see how we mesh.
*whew*

So I saw him and he 'membered me from some where. I can do those tunes and maybe play a little around him. It could be fun.

p.s. Itsa 4 piece band. I'll go see them "live" this evening before the Gov't Mule concert. I like to see how folks behave on stage before committing.

That's too bad Annie. So I take it you will pass on them?
I know what you mean about auditions. I had my first audition ever a month and a half ago. ( I had always started my own bands) I also had two job interviews that day. I was way more nervous about the audition. I got the gig, but neither of the jobs. Go figure.
I hear ya. The last time I got called about a band, I actually got up off my dead behind and went out to hear them at a local wat-rin hole, Strat in hand. After witnessing one horrifying beer-fueled train wreck of a set, the guy who called me came down and asked if I wanted to sit in. I said no... you guys look like you're having a great time, but it's just not my kind of material. Which was the truth. Just not the complete truth.
No way in hell I'll play with flakes.
Don't get me wrong. If you want to smoke & can still play great, I'm good with it. I know I can't and don't/won't. But don't be late.
Ever

Sorry to hear it did'nt fly...the anticipation is a nervous rush in itself. Too bad they were flakes, you're no snob...just that ya know better...no matter how much ya wanna play. Shine on.
Hopeless modaholic...
They don't know what they're missing. I'd drive all the way to the Great White North to play in a band with you.
No neck, no problem
Does that offer still stand, Miles?
I gotsa "big deal" offer, but I seem to have developed "mid life crisis doubts".
We can do it down south in LA, but I don't think I have the material required. (that's good enough)
Let's just go to El Capitan and ponder the situation.

Congrats on avoiding a possible collision course.
That just proves it always a good idea to do your homework and research before committing to some new endeavor.
Good luck with future prospects.

You wanna lay down some tracks on this puppy?

welp, they really want "MY" stuff, but, you know me, I steal melodies and chord progressions like a pack-rat.
I need a songwriting partner.

Hey Annie sorry for the side track, but what is your main guitar and how would you describe your style of music?
Are you more rhythm or lead?
I like reading your posts (in easy to find Technicolor) and want to know a little more about cha. This is not a come on, I'm just curious.
