Not having played out for a while (last band I was in was about 20 years ago), I'm happy to go with the flow.

I'll try learning some songs that come up here so that I don't look like a complete twonk. (Maybe half a twonk...a demi-twonk if you will)

I'm waiting for the list to start so I can learn some of 'em too. Some Lizzy would be alright by me.

Paul _ I'd be honoured. Any boss choons in mind?

I can play along with most stuff (don't know any lizzy though) if I have the chords. I'll bring my song books with various stuff both words and music.

Re: COMPOSTOCK UK JAM PLAY LIST AND OTHER STUFF!

So this is where you've all been hiding?

I know a fair bit of Lizzy (Rosalie, Don't Believe a Word, Dancing in the Moonlight) and I used to play a few others back in the day (Waiting for an Alibi, Jailbreak, Boys are Back in Town, Johnny)

and I know The One I Love by REM

Apart from those I wouldn't mind doing some Neil Young (Like a Hurricane, Rockin' in the Free World, Powderfinger) and I'm ok with a fair bit of "Classic Rock" Free, Cream, Floyd, Skynyrd (Freebird anyone?), but most of all I'm looking forward to having a few beers with you guys.

So...I think we'll be doing "The Drunken Train Wreck" then ;)

Edit. In view of a new guitar pending I'de be up for 'Dont believe a word' Paul wants to sing it. Though Ayns may have to do the solo if I cant get the Mandolin runs oot me heed!

Re: COMPOSTOCK UK JAM PLAY LIST AND OTHER STUFF!

I'm ok with White Room, Badge, Sunshine.., Crossroads and a few off the Layla album, but I'm quite happy to do "Drunken Train Wreck" instead.

BTW quite a few Lizzy songs are detuned a semitone, so probably best we decide which key we're going to play 'em in beforehand. I play Don't Believe a Word in A.

I did indeed see Skynyrd in '77. Couple of months before the plane crash IIRC. Sweet Home's my favourite, and I was serious about Free Bird

Edit :- Looks like it was Feb 1977

Seriously though - its not a bad version. I usually hate covers but it pees all over the Scissor Sisters version!
