ok all you thumpers, quit hiding behind the mains and be counted!
meanwhile, i'll continue to hold down big marge's nether regions.

MY position is FIRMLY behind the backline!
As for Large Marge's Nether Regions- be careful, I think it was Angu Young who got lost in Whole Lotta Rosie's Nethers and wasn't seen for 5 years!
point taken!
me personally, it's been two years since big marge drew me into the abyss.
you know how many times, in two years, a bass player can be interrogated about stage mobility?
um, me neither. but it's a lot.

Sir - I'll have you know I NEVER hide behind the mains and my mathematical skills are exemplary!Originally posted by stonetone

But I'm pretty tame when it comes to moving around - I'll juke and bob a bit - especially when my brother (the drummer) and I get hooked up nice and tight on a particularly synchopated fill - but I get distracted when I move around TOO much. Guess that's why it's almost always a simple "pound on the root" lick I see being played as some of these guys (that like to put on a show) jump about.
Funny - but it's just the opposite when I'm singing/playing. I have some of my most complicated bass runs to be played while I'm singing either a lead or (most of the time) harmony vocal part. Have no trouble with being distracted then (but then again - I play drums too so I've gotten very used to playing/singing one part while playing/singing a completely different part simultaneously).
Oh - and who the hell is "big" Marge??

ah, well, that's um, the name of our band. it's a long story...
*ducking*
but i know exactly what you're talking about, because i have to sing and play bass at the same time. much harder than doing same with a guitar. maybe in another two years, i'll get to be good at it
