    Clapton Artist series soundclips?

Im interested in the EC strat but there isnt one around my local area to try. Can somebody point me to some soundclips that demo the range of sounds this guitar offers.... or, could someone post a clip?
    Would really appreciate it!

Wish I could, but I'm not really set up to do that.

I took a chance, picked one up off an eBay auction, and couldn't be happier with a Strat. The tone controls really do work, and provide a ton of tonal options. Even small adjustments with one, the other, or both tone controls can make a huge difference.

It's a very full and meaty sounding Strat -- tight bottom, good balance through the highs. It doesn't lose any of the vintage "quack" either. Just roll back the tones a bit, if you need to, and you'll awaken them.

How are you with the soft-V neck? I like it on this. It's not really noticeable, and you'll get comfortable with it pretty quickly. It has a nice feel.

Also, the guitar feels a tad heavier than your average Strat. IMO, anyway. It is NOT heavy on the shoulder, though. It's just that it seems so when you pick it up. This guitar sustains forever, too.

I did swap out the one-ply for a three-ply white pearloid pickguard. Some guys like the thin ones, which are more period-correct for a '50s Strat (which this is based off).

Here are some pix of mine.

This is how it looked when I received it (with the 1-ply white PG) --

And this is how it looked after the PG change:

Thanks, the white looks really nice. I'm going to have to locate one & take a drive to play it.

The Eric Clapton strat (in my opinion) is THE most versatile sounding strat Fender has ever produced. It has the normal 5 sounds any strat makes, but with the TBX circuit, you can get various distorted (or overloaded) strat sounds.

If I were to own only one strat, it would be the Eric Clapton model.

Sixpense, that's saying something. You own, what, 30 Strats?

What would be your top 3?

I just got a Custom Shop EC. Listen to almost any of his live recordings from the last 6-7 years and you'll hear this Strat.
