New here and getting back into the swing of things.

    Hi everyone,

I'm somewhat excited to be here and am keen on getting back into guitars which as been a love of mine for many years now. The past five years or so I've been on abit of a hiatus after my tele was throw off a balcony by an ex. After that happened I would occasionally play my brothers acoustic but I defintely lost the passion that I once had. Recently I've picked my the acoustic again and I can feel the love I once had back again. Last saturday I had to urge to go "shopping" I definetly didnt expect to buy anything, but I guess fate works in myterious ways. I ended up falling in love with a guitar that was for sale on consignment. It had a fantastic sound, better than any of the new ones I tried. I admit I tried out most of the teles in the store, but I left with a strat. Please tell me what you think about it, and if anyone has any info on this guitar I've posted a pic of the serial number. I look forward to sharing the passion again with you guys.

    thanks,

    Jonathan

Looks like a Deluxe Strat Plus, made in 1991. Three Lace Sensors, (Blue, Silver, Red). Nice guitar.

    Welcome to TFF!

"Somewhat excited"? Where's your enthusiasm, son?

Seriously, welcome back. And be grateful your ex only threw the Tele, and not YOU, off that balcony.

    Welcome!

And whatever you do, keep that thing away from your ex!

LOL thanks guys, you seem like a friendly bunch. The ex is long gone and I'm married now. And it was actually my wife that insisted that I buy this guitar to get back into it. She loves to listen to me play, so I guess I better not dissappoint her.

Good for you, man. I quit playing for years back in my middle 20s... got back into it in my early 30s, and I'm real glad I did.

    Nice guitar, too.

    sweet.
now go buy her some flowers, or better yet, a new pair of shoes.
it'll make it even easier to get your next guitar.

Buy her a new Vette and you can have all the guitars you want.

Having a wife that supports your guitar interest is awsome. I am fortunate to be in the same situation. Welcome to the forum!

Good thing she is your Ex (the Tele Killer).........if she was your present I would say throw her out the window and communicate to us via Jailhouse Rock

Awesome guitar. Had one. Yours looks like it may have an Ash body - they made them. Awesome axe. Should have kept it. Was some sort of temporary insanity. Traded it for some PA and recording equipment I needed.

Welcome to a very cool (and international) community......

I actually just finished my first customization in it. I installed a tortoise shell pickguard, and I gotta say the sunburst and tortoise shell go together perfectly! Whcih brings me to my next question. Thats the first timoe I've ever swapped a pickguard out adn Gotten a look at the electronics inside. This maybe a dumb question for some of you pro's but I'm guessing that the pick ups are adjustable, and that how close they sit to the strings makes a difference in how they sounds. If anyone has tips for the best sound possible please let me know.

    thanks,

    Jonathan

    Welcome Jon!
    Congrats on your new guitar.

The Lace Sensor pickups can be adjusted very close to the strings if that is your preference.
