sad thing is, I've not had much luck finding a good MIM guitar here. It's always the neck. I thought I found one last week. A Classic 50s Strat. Neck was straight, bridge was good, etc etc... until I looked at the neck from the head. While it was indeed straight, there was a bulge on the side where the high E is. It wasn't a fret problem. There was EXTRA wood bulging out...

When I got my MIA Tele about 5 years ago, I tried it side by side with a MIM Tele. There was a clear difference in the playability and comfort of the necks. I thought the greater cost was worth it.
