I have a friend at work who has a Fender Mustang.
He asked me to help him with shielding, but from what I understand there are bass plates inside already.
Is there anything else I can do to help him shield it better?

my reissue didn't have baseplates, and i have never felt a need to sheild any of my guitars. but i'm sure lining the cavities with foil will reduce noise.
"don't worry, i'm a professional!"
I think he meant to type "brass" plates. Well, the ones in my early '70s Mustang are copper, so close enough. The best way is to use conductive paint on the cavities and foil on the scratch plate. Make sure the grounding wire and all surfaces connect or it won't do anything.
No, I meant to say bass plates, that's how you get more bass, Right?
Yes, you are right, it should be baseplates...
