    '62 Fender P-Bass RI

    You guys dig it? I am really thinking about getting one with a tortoise shell pickguard and sunburst color.

    What's the difference between that and a Jazz Bass?

    Neck profile, pickup configuration, and body shape are among the principal differences.

    The P-Bass (after '57) has a body based on the Stratocaster shape, a wide neck width at the nut, and a single split-coil pickup.

    The traditional J-Bass looks more like the Jaguar/Jazzmaster platform, has an ultra-slim neck, and was originally equipped with dual pickups and controls.
