While I love the sound, but it cuts volume by about a 1/3 when I use it. Anyone know of a fix for this? I'm using it with a '64 Bandmaster and '63 RI reverb unit.

I think there's something wrong with yours, because I never had that impression when I owned one. I thought it sounded great, very transparent...

Not entirely sure, but I recall somebody somewhere along the line posting about a volume loss with the dano tuna melt tremolo.
I own a dano tuna melt, and if there is a slight drop in volume, it's not noticeable enough to bother me. Maybe these things vary from unit to unit..?
IDEA -- try another one at a store, see if you get the same drop!
good luck (try not to buy any telecasters while you're in the store)

Jeru, many tremolo pedals evidence this 'volume drop.' AFAIK, it's a perceptual issue based on the fact that there is a diminished volume for about half the waveform.
I have the Boss TR2 which some say has this drop - in fact, the Keeley mod is supposed to give the pedal a subtle boost to counteract the perceived volume loss. I say - it's much ado about nothing. I generally use the trem pedal to create a helicopter chop when I have a bunch of overdrives goosing it in front. Or, if not that, I use it as a more subtle amp-tremolo on clean, quieter passages where the volume drop wouldn't make a difference.

I have to say that mine has always sounded perfect, and I can't believe they discontinued this pedal, as always check any cables first. Good Luck!!!
