I have an outdoor gig next weekend and we want to utilize all our gear, which is limited.
We want to run 4 15/horn speakers. Our signal is mono and the signal from the EQ(XLR) needs to be split to both sids of my Crown XLS602 amp.
Can I just use a XLR splitter? Any issues with signal loss/noise?
The local music store is telling me to bridge the amp and chain the speakers. This creates a 2 ohm load, & the Crown can handle that load.
Is the splitter ok? is there another way to do this?

assuming your speakers are 8 ohms, paralleling them all will give you 2 ohms

Yes the ohm load would be 2 ohms and the amp can't handle that, so
I'm back to splitting the signal. Is that ok? Why would my local shop tell me not to do that?
then you need to series / parallel them
figure 3 below will yield 8 ohms as far as your amp is concerned (assuming all the speakers are 8 ohms)

I thought I could do that, but I didn't want to have to do that for one gig. Most of our indoor gigs are small and we only use 2 - 15's & 2 - monitors, each running off one side of the amp.
you can split the inputs (requires some soldering short cable and a second connector) this is fairly easy with 1/4" jacks, I have not tried it with XLR's

if you split the signal, you'll have half the input strength to your amps two channels.
Is bridging a problem? Many modern amps have a simple switch to do it.
How 'bout your mixer. What output options does it have? You could use aux or monitor out as a channel
Outputs from the mixer isn't the problem, it only has one in/out and I have two inputs on the amp. I can't bridge the amp at 2 ohms.
Sounds like I need to rewire. I just don't know how to do it.
What type of output is on the mixer?
Radio shack may have what you need. Just a simple "Y" cord will work.
Your amp is a breeze to bridge into 1200 watts @ 8 ohms if you have bare wire or banana connectors.
The output from the EQ is XLR. Amp input is XLR or Banana. There is also a switch for the bridge mode, but the amp can't handle the 2 ohm load.
So if I split the signal there will be loss? and I won't get as much volume as with one signal?
You have a signal loss. You might have enough headroom on your knobs to make up the difference.
What do really have available for a mixer rig? I could help you with options for setup knowing what's available. For one thing, you mention the "EQ" has only XLR out... why are you going from EQ to amp?
