Dang!
I think I've seen some other stuff by this guy---------incredible.
Wonder if he sings too?

The guitarist is okay, and so are his three identical twins. :-)
s'all goof.
It would have been funny if he'd looked box-to-box, a la The Brady Bunch, acknowledging the chops of his various selves.

It would!!!

You're killing me Neo
I saw that a while back when it was first posted, I guess, and was just floored. Maybe if I would practiced 8 or 10 hours a day I might be that good now. Heck, I might have been that good by the time I was 40.
Sweet mother of pearl! That guy's good.
I hate him! (Thanks for posting it...I guess. )
Was DiMeola in TCCEB?

I normally snicker at the name Fabio.
That heavy fusion stuff isn't my cup of tea, but, damn, he's good.
He's not merely keeping time or holding down a groove on any of those instruments.
He's the most talented Fabio I've seen.
So far.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if TCCEB pre- or post-dated RTF. I don't know a lot about Corea's bands, although I usually dig stuff with his name attached. I guess he's kinda like fusion's Art Blakey -- at least in the sense that he's got a real knack for recognizing talent and putting together great ensembles. I got a copy of RTF's Where Have I Known You Before 'cause I'm a big fan of Al DiMeola and wanted to hear some of his earlier stuff...and I liked it a lot.

Yep. He made a stir in his Guitar Player interview when he basically dissed all guitarists who can't play fast.
Oh, Al....

Man, how disappointing! He didn't even try to cover Eric Marienthal's part. Kinda' hard to believe he doesn't play sax too. That's really great stuff!
And yes RTF toured last year. I caught them in St. Pete, FL.
I love the TCCEB and have been lucky enough to see them twice -- both times with John Patitucci on bass.
OT: TJ, did you catch the show Friday night at Dan's Silverleaf?

That was awesome, thanks for posting!
Well, it's not the most moving thing I ever heard. But I've always disliked Al's trained-seal flurries of 32-notes while playing in Return To Forever. And his interviews over the years have certainly painted him as more than bit self-consumed.
I am bored to tears with virtuosity for it's own sake. That music never seems to be saying anything but "Wow! Look at this!!!"

So much for me living vicariously through your wonderful musical experience ...........Bill
The drummer sucks!!! WTF?!?!
LOL! Wow, a quadruple (sp?) threat!
My dad is a huge RTF fan, so I emailed him as soon as I heard about the reunion. They did a show in Austin right down the street from him and he was returning home early to catch the show. On his connecting flight from Dallas (or Houston) he was waiting for this connecting flight and recognized Al. My dad saw Al's show one of the last times he played in Austin where only my dad and 4-5 other guys he was with were in the audience. What does that tell you about Al Dimeola if guitarist capital of the world doesn't welcome you? Anyway, I don't remember the story or sequence, but Chick and a couple other guys from the band all showed up at different times.
Someone was just joining the tour at that point (I think Al D?) and there were multiple hugging sessions as if some of these people have not seen each other for years.
My dad was talking to Al when other people showed up, and kept trying to excuse himself feeling very awkward the first time someone showed up -but Al introduced him. He made Al sound very gratious, but I know the real Al. I didn't break his heart and tell him why he and his friends were the only ones at the show!! LOL

Reminds me of doing bladder acid in the 70's and listening to Yes Fragile.
Now the thought of that gives me a headache. Just to busy for my brain to comprehend. YMMV.

Wow. Thanks for the link, I'm off to practice for a bit.
