M-audio ProjectMix Control Board

Anyone here have experience with this product? I am evaluating it as a possibility for my home studio (my extra bedroom!) and would like to hear any comments, positive or negative, about this product. TIA.

I've not tried it, but I have like the other M-Audio gear I've owned (had a Quattro + Omni I/O and now have the FW1814).
Nice mic pres (for the price, that is).

Thanks for the comments. I'm a bit worried that it might be more than I need, which is really just me and my guitars. It might be wishful thinking that I can use all of its capabilities, but I could probably get away with a less capable interface (ProFire 610 or even a ProFire Solo), since it's currently just me, myself and I in the "band".

I have an M-Audio Delta 1010LT card that I like a lot. I like that it's a PCI card, so no external box collecting dust next to the computer. I like that it has 2 XLR inputs. I have a keyboard workstation (1/4" output jack to RCA ins), a guitar amp (Tech 21 TM 30 with the XLR out to XLR in), a Vox TonelabLE (1/4" to RCA ins), auxiliary stereo jack for an iPod all permanently hooked to my inputs, and my studio monitors hooked to 2 of the outputs (L/R). I had it since 2004 and I never had any issue with it yet (knocking on wood). A friend of mine has a FireWire 410 that is also pretty sweet. M-Audio makes great products.

You might not need something as big as ProjectMix if it's only for guitars. Something like the USB Fast Track or Fast Track Pro will be just as good.

I also like the Delta 1010LT-unfortunately, my G5 is one of two models that does not work with most of the M-audio cards, so I am forced to go with either USB or Firewire. I agree that the ProjectMix may be overkill-the most I envision for the near term is my vocals and guitar and possibly my son's keyboard, which would be covered nicely by the ProFire 610 (the successor to the 410). I think Firewire is a better choice because it seems there is less possibility of lag or similar data chokes with Firewire vs USB (even 2.0).

Yep, I don't know about the Project Mix thingy but my FW1814 is bus powered too, which is great with a powerbook!

The device I was looking for is the now discontinued iControl that is a perfect tiny project control seurface designed with GarageBand in mind:
