They offer some pretty neat configurations with the offset body style.

I started a thread about these last week-ish, titled "¡Maldito seas, Xavier!," in keeping with refin's "Darn you, Rondo!" thread, in the Whammy Bar.

I was looking through the specs, they claim that the neck picket is cut to fit Fender dimensions if you ever have to replace the neck. They also supposedly put in full size pots for the volume & tone.

At $209 this is gonna end up causing me marital problems. Even I know I don't need another guitar!

Well, not as much as if it was $409.

I could easily see this guitar with one of these necks......

With the headstock painted to match, of course.

Might make for a nice spring/summer project.

    Hmmm......

If that neck is $200, that puts me at $409!
(Thankfully they're on back order right now anyway. Gives me either more time to forget about it, or more time to get my expectations too high)

One point I'd like to add...

I wish Fender would come out with a Classic Vibe Jazzmaster! I love Jazzmasters, but they're just so dang expensive.

Just a few words of caution. I have an older xaviere tele style guitar and after replacing all the electronics (full size pots are imported junk, and the 3 way switch broke after a day) and the tuners - its actually a decent guitar - but the body has a couple of cracks near the controls already - so its not the most stable wood.

Its my "trunk" guitar - so it sits in my car just in case I'm in a life or death situation that requires some quick blues licks. And it does an admirable job at that - but I don't know that it is going to last too long before it falls apart.

I keep a couple of harps in my truck for the same purpose. The only problem is that I can't really play them well enough to save my life in an emergency!

Yep I'm just not sure. The specs on the Zaviere look good (IMO), but then again, maybe I'll just keep my eyes open for a MIJ or something.

I wish Fender would make a CV version! There probably isn't enough of a market for them though.

The JM's switching, wiring and p'ups, even the trem and body, are not as genericized as the Strat and Tele. So they probably can't contract with a factory in China to knock them out as easily, to wind up with a $349 guitar.

PCB on the back of the pick guard! They can do it!

    "Can." Sure.

But that would constitute actually designing something, R&D, sourcing not-already-generic parts.
Not part of their business plan for Squire.

I don't figure there are near as many people interested in Jazzmasters as there are Strats & Teles anyway.

If I want something cheaper, the Zaviere is probably a decent choice. If I want an actual JM, I'll need to save up & get one.

Really, its just GAS. I always end up playing my tele (or my JV strat) at gigs anyway.
