    New Thread Test

I could not post a new thread in either "Whammy
    Bar' or "Clones".

    So this is a test.

OK, must have been something in the content.
    So I will try again.

    Re: New Thread Test

OK, I tried almost everything, no curse words were there, maybe the term "Bich" got it going, I even removed '72 Blonde Tele". I am doing something wrong-I even changed the thread title to "Homebrew Guitar". It keeps giving me a strange error.

    I could not copy-clip it.
I'll have to edit to get the message back.
    Here it is:

    Re: New Thread Test

I pasted the image from ImageShack, and it showed up on another forum with no issues.

    What am I doing wrong?

TFF's software always had issues with cut-n-paste, as I recall. If you didn't type it there in this reply box, it didn't want to show up... even messages typed in something like Word.

Right--there used to be a lot of info about this right here in the Front Desk area. You can't use the percentage sign, the Spanish tilde or certain accent marks, and if you cut and paste anything from the 'Net that has these, it won't post and throw you that very error.

Jim is also right that cut & paste from MS Word, even without those problem characters, only seems to work about half the time because of "hidden characters" in the MS Word text.

Finally we even discovered that one combination of words when typed in a certain order caused the same error. TJ first discovered this I believe and we narrowed down through trial and error to a combination of three words. That thread is somewhere here in the Front Desk too, I think.

(At least they used to be here--they may have been removed during a Front Desk spring cleaning a year ago. If so... sorry!)

You might be able to cut and paste if you use one of the dumbed down programs like notepad or wordpad.

Yep, Notepad works. I think Wordpad still has some funny business going on below the hood.

I noticed the percent sign awhile ago but I still forget an try to use it sometimes...

I've had this happen in the past as well. I assumed it was some kind of symbol or combination of symbols.

    What a bump!

I found out the offending word was "Bich"
I could not post my very old prototype 7/8 oak Bich copy and it would block it.
The word "Bich" was contained within the text of the image link.

It was my first ground-up build using ancient oak found in a barn.

I's 23 years old and still going strong.
Been through many iterations but she's tough and sounds/plays great.

Pic of the offender, the "Barn Door Bich":
