Ask him what it weighs.
You could end up with a fifteen-pound guitar.
"When injustice becomes law then rebellion becomes duty."
That could be fun on stage with a nice neck and pickups unless it's too heavy.
Ive asked him twice if its heavy....he has not answered...that was my first inclination, too heavy to be functional. We will see if he ever answers the q.
Any guestimation on tone impact of the lucite?

You're in Louisville? I was born and raised in Louisville!
Got them Statesboro Blues
Usually heavy and bright. Think Keef mid 70's when he was playing those Dan Armstrong. I have heard them sound decent tho, but with quite a bit of gain.
I think if you can score it for a good price then it'd be cool as a stage guitar. My 2¢, YMMV.
"don't worry, i'm a professional!"
These tend to have a very "focused" sound. No overtones to speak of, that's why they need the help of pedals or dirt.
Some people like that thin sound in the mid and top. Tons of solid bass with a firm attack.
