    Knotty Pine Tele

I got the itch to build something so I built a knotty pine Tele. I got everything from Stewmac. Neck, body, pots, switch, bridge and pups. I used a four way switch. Everything fit really nice. It sounds and plays great. I was pretty surprised with it. I did blue stain with a couple light coats of nitro. I didn't want to do too much sanding just to keep it rustic looking. It's a player and sounds great through my 5e3 clone.
I too the photo too. My day job is a freelance photographer.

Thanks. The only thing is, knotty pine is pretty soft so it will build some honest mojo pretty quickly. Every time I take it out, somebody wants to buy it from me. The four way switch is highly recommended. The extra position combines the bridge and neck pickups in series for a really fat tone. Sounds huge in that position. You still get the three normal Tele configurations.

That makes for very unique and esoteric-looking aesthetic. Very nice.

Nice Photography too. I like the "faded jeans" vibe that thing has. One of the most intriguing Tele's I've seen in a while. Very cool!

I'm curious about the tone. How does a pine body sound in comparison to the normal body woods used in a Telecaster?

    I AM IN LUST !!!!!!!
That is hands down THE most GORGEOUS Telecaster I have ever seen. I MUST have one!

    Thanks!
I bought everything from Stewmac including the pups. They're their Golden Age pickups. They sound really nice. I installed a four way selector switch. It put the neck and bridge pickups in series and gives a nice volume/fatness bump. It's a nice sounding guitar.

Thanks for all the kind words! It sounds pretty slick through my 5e3.
