    Jangly distortion pedal?

I heard a music bump between news stories on the radio yesterday. Just an electric, for just a few bars. I want that sound. I don't use pedals much and for OD I have a Barber LTD that does lo-gain very well. The sound I heard had a crystalline, rattly quality and didn't color the Strat guitar tone at all. Not buzzy, compressed or even consistent, the level of effect faded as the notes decayed.

What kind of pedal will give that?

not a lot of pedals do crystalline OD sounds

this would be one of the most neutral ones that would do that with something like a blackface fender

After listening to a few demos I believe that may be the one.

    Thanks!

ZenDrive is pretty nice too. I'd look at the Paisley Drive, or anything that touts the "Dumble" thing

I own two Zendrives and find them to be pretty dark and smooth. Kind of the opposite of jangle.

I was thinking the same thing. The Prince of Tone set in the boost mode with the gain cranked can be pretty jangly.

I guess? I turn the mids all the way up. Then again, I find pretty much all OD's bright... But I have a naturally bright tone anyway.
