    Joyo R 06 Looper/Drum Machine

This is brand new (I think) from Joyo, and very hard to get here thus far. It's on order, and I'll likely will have to wait a few weeks, but I believe it'll be worth it. Seven drum kits with seven drum styles [ie. Blues, rock, jazz ect.] With fills, intro/outro and such. And a 40 min Looper with unlimited layers. Said to be interactive between the systems and tap tempo settings by the user.
The demos on YouTube caught my attention, and the drums sound great, and the layering of tracks that automatically align sold me.

Now to wait for it's arrival, and then see if I'm going to be smart enough to use it. After all, there's a computer chip or two in there!

I got a BeatBuddy when they first came out. Drum pedals are so sophisticated nowadays.

Its called O.M.B. the One Man Band. Of course with the title using "man" and not "person" or "gender neutral" the Socialist, Demo-rats, and LGBRGNQ [whatever] will likely protest it and ban its import. It'll be all over the fake news!

    Re: Joyo R 06 Looper/Drum Machine

Yup, gonna be interesting. Neighbor across the road has one of those tiny micromini things that's a Looper, but it'll do maybe 3 layers? Gets all blurred and muddy fast! Do not like it! Fact is I want to pour coke in it to corrode it!

So I'm looking forward to this. My laptop suffered an in-flight emergency landing while an attempt to record went afoul. It was a crash landing of course. I record on tape. Shoulda known better.... But for goofin' around and much more textured practice and such, this contraption might be fun. If not, Homer-Cross-the-Highway will likely wanna get it so I'll have a market if need be. He's got 4 of my former guitars and 5 amps, and 4 pedals from here if I remember right. But we'll see if this device lives up to its name.

    Re: Joyo R 06 Looper/Drum Machine

Well, this interesting little device, the exact same size as your standard stompbox, was delivered. I got it inside, hook it up, it lights up a beautiful green front and back, has like four pots on top and a 3-way toggle, with a God knows what kind of latching system on the stump switch. That little button switch controls everything as far as making it work. Correction, there are two pots on top that service volume for the Looper and the other for the drum machine. Below them are rotary switches for the drum machine settings. I have to admit it's kind of cool , but I'm afraid it's smarter than I am!I kind of got it working a little bit, but the instructions might as well have been written in a foreign language because I don't understand it. It's well phrased English, but I don't get it. This device is, I think, too sophisticated for this old country boy. If I can't make it work in a week, I'll move it. It's so new and rare at this point, there's no one on the planet that has done hey YouTube instructional! And I'm really not that big of a YouTube fan, but this is kind of new and I figured that there'd be some Bozo there that would know about it. Not!

    Re: Joyo R 06 Looper/Drum Machine

Don't need any Guru from YouTube to tell me how to make this work. Sat down this morning with a cup of my famous coffee, and studied the rather brief documentation that accompanied the device. The result was better than last night's attempt. I figured out exactly almost, how the single foot switch button makes the whole thing work. You have to be aware of when to Simply tap, tap and hold, or just push down and hold it. All the various functions work with how one Taps the footswitch. So for those who care oh, I've got it figured out. For those who don't care I guess it doesn't matter. Did I spend a hundred nine bucks on something that I can use, Maybe. Am I going to try and make use of this device? Yes I am. It has a lot of interesting functions that I'm still discovering. Oh well that's it for now. The old Ranger is signing off. We'll talk again someday I guess. Y'all have fun.

i'm still sort of behind the times in terms of pedals and such. you have a looper before I did. I like the idea of one a lot, seen people who do some pretty amazing things with one.

    Re: Joyo R 06 Looper/Drum Machine

got the mooer.......nit impressed-- it WORKS fine -- functions well and does what it is supposed to BUT
the drum tracks/rhytms are --- not anything I have heard a drummer play before---
the drum track is "thin" and week (though you can adust the volume fo rit) then it gets ANNOYING and almost ice picky--
like an old CHEAP low end keyboard that had 2 speakers in it on eitehr end from Radio SHack.......

not happy -- its trade fodder -- or being returned---

as a LOOPER only it works fine-- but I bought for BOTH functions --

    Re: Joyo R 06 Looper/Drum Machine

V-K, Judging from the timeline of your posts, you just bought the Mooer device...See, if you waited for my response on the Joyo, you could've avoided the issue. Ha!

The Joyo has EXCELLENT DRUMS! And as an old drummer who knows his way around a kit, the different types of percussive displays are impressive. The fills established at a multitude of bar patterns defies logic for a standard stompbox size device. I'm impressed! This Joyo is a keeper!
And Adrian, you know I was just pickin on ya a bit.

I am truly HONORED to be picked on by you Wade -- you forget I been in outside sales 30+ years--- you gotta try a LOT harder to "pick" at me, skins PLENTY thick lol--
    ---and besides --your 100% CORRECT!!--
I have the mooer on the trade/sell list (got a line on a nice BOSS Blues Driver )so will see..

I am on the hunt for the joyo--

I like the function of the drum section and having one with FILLS -- and that doesnt sound like a childs toy would be AWESOME!!!

    this sounds GOOOD

been watching this one as well. The feature at 3:43 in really appeals to me -- over all other pedals...

    Re: Joyo R 06 Looper/Drum Machine

Yup, it was a friendly pick. Kinda like a nudge in the ribs when ya gotta buy the next round when you're out with the guys.

And I agree, that NUX unit appears to be awesome! You're computer savvy and it wouldn't be a challenge for you. Compared to it, the Joyo would be child's play. Guess that's why I got it (even though secretly I struggle with it still. I'm old, and suffer from "technophobia")
I think you should go that route with the NUX, as it better suits your multiple personalities. I know, as one of mine suggested that to me this morning with the first cup of coffee. Nigel said "Quite right. The lad ought to persue that yellow thingie, it suits 'im."
Of course you remember all the trouble Nigel started in that bar one night.

I will say this about having this Looper / drumming machine thing here. It shows me, just exactly how decrepit my guitar playing has become. It clearly displays how crappy I Have Become. Think I'll take a break for a while. picked up a 50 year old model 15 - 3. I think I'll just go play with it. I do much better with six guns. Y'all have....

GUns and guitars-- they just seem to go together- :)

I most likely will give the nux a whirl--- they are rather new-- so -- gotta let someone wear the depreciation off while I hunt a good "deal" ya know ;)

I put the contraption back in the box.
Too complicated for me I think. Can't remember all the steps to work it.
Maybe it was a mistake to get it.

I had a pre model 15 that sure was a lot of fun. I tried to give my oldest daughter a model 60 to carry, but she asked for the 15. It now lives in Alaska, and my grandson enjoys it!

Yup, this one's a 1969 model 15-3. 96% finish and all original. Shoots great! Was out with what I call " Nostalgic poppers" , 158gr cast roundnose. 50m, two hand hold and had 20 hits out of 24. Not bad for an old man with shakey hands and lousy eyesight on a 10"x10" iron plate.

    Re: Joyo R 06 Looper/Drum Machine

    Looper update.
Have been to almost a dozen guitar and pawn shops to sell this thing. No one would touch it.
I tried again earlier today again to use the thing, but all it did was manage to frustrate the hell outta me! Yanked the plugs outta the thing. Opened my back door, and threw it as hard as I could against a large ceded tree out back. Went back to get my 45. After 3 rounds from a 1911A1, it was having a bad day. Picked up the pieces and threw em out into the deep woods. It can be a new home for the ants! I fu*king despise technology!

It's a pity that your technique let you down; I was in such a situation too. Indeed, sometimes brand instruments show themselves badly and do not want to submit to improve them. So I gave up my old guitar and just threw it in a junkyard. I ordered a new one and a drum machine on in a stompbox. Interestingly, you can use this drum pedal for guitar and other instruments. It works perfectly. I think you should not despair and be upset. If music is really your vocation, buy a good technique and go for it.
