Hi,
Just bought a 1446. Haven't received it yet.
Any other Silvertone fans out there?
I'm also looking for the history of these guitars.
Thanks,
GL

[Man, that's cool! Love the lipstick pickups.]
Thanks! That guitar cost me less than a used reissue! I've had a couple of reissues and their sound can't compare. Playability is surprisingly good, though the tuners operate backwards by design on these! BTW, the flecks on this guitar is not dust. It's silver paint. They gave these guitars a metal flake finish by misting them with silver paint!
I had this guitar and 1482 amp for a while too. This was when I got them home. The guitar was complete except for strings and set up fine.
I also have a Sears 5XL amplifier. Those things are scary!
Nice! I have 2 modern Silvertones. One is a black/maple SS10 and the other is a dark blue/rosewood SS11(both Strat clones) built by Samick, who built the reissues AFAIK. That's all for me, though. They're in my avatar.

Glad to see you on the forum. It's great to see interest in other guitars as well.
Don, what year is that Silvertone from?--I remember when spraying silver flecks on paint like that was used for a few things. I remember seeing art deco table sets painted that way.
