Let me tell you, I bought one of these last month and I am totally amazed with the quality of construction, sound, and playability at this price point. Absolutely incredible. Congratulations.
I was on the waiting list at Sweetwater for two months and finally gave up the wait when I saw Musiciansfriend had them in stock. Fortunately mine came perfectly set up since MF does not do a pre-sale inspection like SW. It is no wonder these Juniors with the P-90 do not last long in stock. Such a fantastic score, at any price.

At long last, my Marshall cabinet drought is over. I saw this bad boy yesterday, but it had been listed for 15 days. It must have had a really high price that caused me to not even look. Even yesterday, it was still quite a bit more than I wanted to pay. But it was clean and it was just a few miles away.
I emailed him and made an offer. He countered and I declined. Oh, well, the search goes on I guess. Then the seller emailed me again. After talking with his wife, he offered my bid plus 50 and his son could deliver it. Sold.
I just got done testing it. I don't care what people say about JCM900 cabs, it sounded rock and roll to me. I plugged my FSR Princeton Reverb into it, via the 8 ohm left/right jacks. With just 2 of the speakers going, my Princeton on 3 was a gorgeous thumping tone machine. The reverb sounded cavernous.

That's awesome! My JCM 800 would sound great through that! So would my Avatar 45! I've never had a 4x12 cab! I have an oversize 2x12 cab that I can't move!

I have the 2x12 version of that - works great with my JCM900 and JMP. However, I prefer the sound of the Greenbacks with that amp. I'd consider swapping one - I rotate between having both plugged in and swapping leads when |I want to change heads.

yes, 300 watt version. Looking around for my RCA to 1/4" adaptor so I can plug my Champ into the 4 ohm mono jack.
Hope to open it soon and find out what's in it. I may be the first person to touch those screws since it was assembled. I know I have a power screwdriver around somewhere.

Junior came in today. Initial impressions are really good. Nice big neck, fit and finish are top-notch.
It's a bit heavier than I was expecting, but still not bad. I need a bit longer strap for it - I'm using one from another guitar right now and it's too short.
I have to decide whether it would look better with black or brown strap.

I'd go with black. That's what I did. I have twice as many straps as I do guitars, and I have over 30 guitars.

Another one of these little guitar stands. They’re practical and fit inside a backpack or a pedal case. Mine lasted 6 years until it broke down.

I love my little Gretsch G9500 Jim Dandy parlor guitar, but I feel hampered by the fact that it only has 12 frets to the body. Looking for something along that line price-wise as well as playing-wise, I came across an Alvarez DELTA00/TSB that, when I expressed interest in it, was offered a sweet deal and free shipping, so how could I pass it up?
It came today (four days before expected!) and several things struck me immediately:
- It's larger than both my Gretsch and my Taylor GS Mini. The scale is 24 13/16, which is a bit longer than the others.
- The neck is w-i-d-e. And chunky. It measures 1.75" at the nut.
- It is less "bright" sounding than my Taylor. Shipped with D'Addario EXP16 (.012-.053) light gauge, I may put a heavier set on it.
- It's pretty. I can't find any flaw in the workmanship, and the materials are all real wood (mahogany back, sides and neck, Sitka Spruce top), bone and chrome. Real abalone and mother of pearl inlays (rosette, 12th fret inlay).
Is it a keeper? It's too early to tell. I can tell you I didn't fall in love with it immediately the way I did with my Taylor. But it's not meant to replace the Taylor, either.

I think I'm working too hard. Yesterday I bought a NOS Orange Globe 12AX7A preamp tube. I want to put this in my Princeton Reverb, V1 position.
Tonight, after looking at the Stratocaster section, rekindled my desire for a 60th anniversary Squier Aztec Gold Stratocaster. I looked around and found one NOS on Reverb and snagged it. Now I really have to sell some gear, LOL.

Does being given something count? Well, to be honest, I suggested it. My daughter bought for my upcoming birthday a guitar stool/seat because sometimes I like to get off the sofa and play. Sitting in the autumn sun is a real treat, but I only have an outdoor chair that has arms, and they get in the way when I want to play. So, not only can I quickly unfold this when I feel the urge, but I can also place my guitar in its stand if I want to speak with a neighbor, refresh my drink, or want to take a break.

OS, I like that. I assume the cradle parts fold out to hold the guitar?

Yes. And a single hand-fastened screw holds the back (which has a spring-loaded tilt mechanism) support, which means the whole thing can be folded up flat and put in the trunk of a car in two minutes.

So I get that LP Junior a little bit ago.
|I really dug the distorted sounds, but the clean tones were... anemic, to say the least.
|I thought the pickup was a bit far away from the strings, so I finally got around to looking up how far they should be. Most places are saying about 1/16 of an inch below the strings, fretted at the last fret. Mine was just over 1/4inch.
So I ordered riser shims from Mojotone. They came in yesterday. I installed the 1/8" one, it's a bit lower than the experts say, it's now about 1/8", but the sound is immesurably better, especially clean, though distorted is also better still. I'm trying to decide if I want to put in the 3/16, instead, but I don't know if |I want to pull the strings again. |I have to play with the pole pieces ansd see what that does.

Again, not sure if my latest purchase was exactly guitar related, but in a way it definitely was here it goes:
9v batteries for the 4 pedals I'm gonna use when... drumroll... my band gets back to practice, in early November! I'm happy as a puppy with a new toy.
I recently ditched power supplies and most of the effects pedals I still had in my chain. I'm keeping everything as simple as possible and being true to my motto: play more guitar and tap dance less.
And waste beau coup $$$ on 9-volt batteries.

I don't use a ton of pedals, but the ones I do use seem to drain batteries pretty quick. The Hall of Fame reverb will kill a 9V faster than my delay! I bought a Pedal Power & never looked back

All you have to do is disconnect the patch cables after you're done. Besides, the power supply is another piece of gear to provide weight, noise and eventual failure. Plus, you don't have to worry about one more power outlet when you gig, and so on. No, thank you. If I can avoid it, I will.

IN the former, if something goes wonky with the supply, it's not as big a deal. In the latter, anything to make it simpler and (marginally) less possibility of something going wrong.

Two things helped me decide what to do with my pedals: I am loathe to spend money on perishables (like batteries), & the fact that at this stage of the game I've pretty much settled on what pedals I like. So I built a board that both mounted the pedals permanently, & concealed the power supply.
I went so far as to mount an IEC inlet on the side of the board for convenience.
My board is due for an overhaul, but I like making stuff anyhow
A new guitar strap from Stringjoy. Yes, on occasion they offer straps, and I've been so frustrated with the straps I own (they are nearly impossible to put on) that I decided to give them a try.
I like it so much (it went on nice and smoothly) that I ordered another, in a different color.

You can't sneak that shim in without removing the strings? I just loosened them when I put shims on my ES-225 and the Jr that I used to own.
yes, that’s the ideal approach. Anyway since I only use 4 pedals that don’t really drink too much juice, batteries actually last a decent amount of time.
I no longer gig, but when I did, I got lucky with power wotsits. DC Bricks have done a good job for me. Now that I don't play live, I am not too concerned about them failing.

Failure isn’t exactly the main issue that bothers me. It’s more about weight, noise and needing an extra outlet or a multi outlet extension everytime I need to play.
I’m in a “less is more” phase.
The only time I've gotten noise with the Bricks is when a particular pedal or cable have bitten the dust. The DC Brick is really light and weighs less than most pedals, and it's no bigger than a regular pedal.

Yesterday I was out running errands all day. Get home to find a stickie note from the mailman about a missed delivery, signature required. I can pick it up at the post office.
It can't be the guitar from last week, it had to come from overseas. I check the tracking information ... and it was !! I had an important paperwork bundle to mail out today so I decided to kill two birds with one stone and an Uber ride.
I get to the post office and realized I forgot the stickie note. Dammit. Now I have to try again next week and it's supposed to be a rainy, raw, stormy week. I'm probably going to use the bus this time, can't afford all this Uber. Merde.
