Like I said before, I switched to a smaller chain and powered it with batteries so I didn’t have to bother with outlets, noise, amperes and such.

Took this compact rig to a studio yesterday and OH BOY…



I strongly recommend it. I hadn’t really used batteries ever since I was a beginner with a couple of cheap pedals and a 15 watt solid state amp but DUDE! My rig sounded so good I couldn’t stop smiling. No noise whatsoever and every pedal was lively and perfect in my ears.

Plus, it was obviously practical.

By using a good power supply with isolated outputs such as ex. Voodoo Lab (there are more affordable options), noise won’t be a problem.

Yes I used to do that but you still need to find an outlet for it, deal with cord length and it adds weight and bulk to your board.

I've got my P/S permanently mounted to the underside of my pedal board -- out of sight and out of mind. Plenty of regulated juice that's quiet as a church mouse, with both 9VDC and 18VDC taps for any conceivable device.
