Marty is in semi-retirement and it won't be long before he retires completely. That'll be a sad day for sparkle finish lovers like me. He's done two others for me and I don't think anyone else in the finishing business even comes close. I've got the pickups and all the hardware just standing by and tracking says these pieces will be here tomorrow. Looking forward to putting it all together. Here's a look at Marty's work.

Marty's finish work is astonishing. Everything went back together with no problems. This ash Fender Baja body is a heavyweight, so I don't like that about this guitar. Its my heaviest Telecaster at just over 8 pounds. The Pure Vintage '64 Telecaster pickups sound very nice, I have them in another Telecaster and in the bridge on one of my Esquires. Great pickups for the money ($109 for a set) but not as good as my favorites (Custom Shop Nocasters at $219). Initially, I had nickel-plated steel saddles with a single groove for each string on the bridge, but things were just a little too bright for me and the brass saddles tame that a bit. This Musikraft neck has a 9.5" radius, which is not my favorite, preferring 7.25" radii on my Fender guitars. Overall, this guitar plays and sounds great. Thanks Cogs!!Originally Posted by Cogs
