    Let's Sunday Like It's March 20, 2022

Rise and shine Straggots! We've reached the proverbial "day of rest" once again. What's on your plate for the day?

I got my first booster shot Friday. Not because I wanted it, but because my upcoming trip will be made much more difficult without it. As expected, I had a bit of a sore arm, but it didn't prevent me from trimming hedges yesterday and getting out and about. I did manage to pick up my Taylor from the shop, where another Taylor is following me home (pics to come). I did have some body aches, as it turns out, and I slept really well last night. Today, a barely sore arm and I'm ready to go.

It's going to be cooler today but there's no question in my mind Spring has arrived. Right on time, too! I have flowers blooming, trees are blossoming, and when I walk the neighborhood, I see fresh gardens and sprays of color. I love this time of year!

So, a day of rest for me. That means church this A. M., and then reading, guitar playing and watching TV (thanks to my daughter I have access to the Star Trek: Picard series).

    Who's up next?

I got up to read that we had a dense fog alert but the sun was shining bright in my neck o' the woods by the time I dragged my sluggard behind out of bed . It won't be as warm as it was on Friday but no rain/drizzle like we had most of yesterday.

On my plate today will be our annual corned beef and cabbage dinner and jam session. Last time I didn't bring my guitar, the governor shut down the state the next day. It's been 2 years since I've played with anybody. Still not sure which gear is going to go, need to check out my acoustic and see if it survived. Otherwise it's the Princeton Reverb's debut which was supposed to happen last time.

Spring starts in less than an hour at 11:33 EST. It is difficult to express how incredibly happy I am to see that. I don't care if we get that white crap again ... uh ... taunting the winter gods in their final hour is ill-advised around these parts so I'll stop there Gotta get going, I want to shower and have time for my fingers to firm up, usually in the 2-3 hour range.

Did church online today. Worked some on the closet, now taking a break as F1 starts today. Then it will be back to the closet. Hoping to get interrupted with a phone noting my offer for a used convertible is accepted. I’ll fire up the amp this evening for a few songs as my wife will be out of town

Nope, will not get a call today as the dealership (it’s in WY) is closed today.

Just checked out my acoustic. I only checked it once at the apartment in 15 months, took out the old humidipaks and never put any back in. Then in the 11 months since we moved, I opened it once to check on it shortly after. We had humidification in the apartment and at this house.

It was barely out of tune and was in fact quite playable when I picked it up today. Huzzah. No amp to lug today.

It is a beautiful 50° sunny day here on the western shore of Lake Michigan and I should have taken either the bike or the new Vette out for a run but I’m a lazy dude and thought we’d wait for a nicer day. There is lots of time to go for the riding season.

Hope all have a great Sunday and new week.

Nice Sunday with my wife at my parents’. My father cooked a traditional Brazilian shark stew for the family and after lunch and coffee we watched the F1 race. I think I’ll follow this F1 season with him. I usually don’t, as it makes me miss Ayrton Senna, but watching races with the old man is good.

The band restarted practicing, I hope this time we take off again, finally. Every f… time we start, someone gets ill and we have to postpone any gig plans again.

Picked up a new paperback and will stay home reading for the rest of the day.

Wish you all a good Sunday!

Man, today’s race was awesome. Leclerc drove like a master, and I was so disappointed when Pérez had to quit because of the engine issue. He was really fighting back Hamilton and would probably finish in third!

Yes! Weird fuel pump issues in three related cars! I wanted to see LeClerc and Verstappen race on track until the end.

    Re: Let's Sunday Like It's March 20, 2022

Late to the party again. Did very little today. Friday and Saturday I volunteered to go down to Mystic Seaport and help get the Amistad ready for sailing. Shrink wrap off on Friday and removing all the framing that kept it in place. That was exhausting, but a good day's work. Yesterday a large group of volunteers spent the day getting it thoroughly cleaned up from stem to stern and checking batteries on all devices - life rings, flashlights, smoke detectors - LOTS and LOTS of batteries. Coast Guard inspection is soon, so it was all hands on deck! My grandson, Xavier and Mrs. Junkie joined us on Saturday. Xavier turned 16 last week. He is growing up to be quite a good young man. Smart as a whip - a bit of a nerd, like I used to be - but nerds rule!!! Everybody who worked yesterday got a nice sweatshirt as a thank-you for volunteering.

Got a lot of cool stuff to review for Amazon this weekend so I spent a lot of today doing that. Some decent fishing stuff and other sundry items. Working on a new song - first one since my friend, Charlie Karp died and the music in me went right along with him. Feels good to have that part of the brain working again.

Lighter workload than usual this week. No evening workshops - although I do have to facilitate a board retreat on Saturday. That will be fun, except I'm getting a new Weber Gas Grill delivered on Wednesday and I really want to get it assembled this weekend. Knowing me I'll work into the night on Wednesday to get it up and running.

    We all miss Senna.

Was nice to see the Scuderia 1-2 after all this time. Hope my Ferrari stock holdings reflect the outcome.
