Let's see if the Sunday Post trend continues

The last couple weeks I show up at the party late and start a Sunday thread only to see Old Strummer post one at the same exact time. Not much going on her today., I worked yesterday with a terrible cold and was exhausted afterwards.. I need to rest today, kick this cold on its proverbial rear end, so I can face the work week at as close to 100% as possible. I learned that facilitating a meeting wearing a mask whilst suffering from a cold can be messy... Anyways, the Mrs. and I haven't been sick in two years and just made up for it... she has developed emphysema and really is paying the price for being a smoker now.

My Weber Grill still hasn't arrived. It is lost on a truck somewhere and nobody has found it yet. "They'll call you tomorrow" and "you'll probably get it within a couple days" are repeated so much I assume it's just a recording. Well, my one scheduled workshop was just cancelled for this week, so I'll have all my evenings free to recuperate.

The trip to Nashville is on later this month. Seeing my birth mom and meeting my sister for the first time is pretty exciting. Her kids are also coming out and my brother is flying down with his daughters so it will be a giant family meet and greet.

    Have a great week!

Re: Let's see if the Sunday Post trend continues

Good morning GJ and everyone else! I held off on posting a Sunday thread because I've almost become the de facto Sunday Thread-maker, and I'm not sure I want the distinction. So, thank you!

Speaking of which, I will be traveling the next three weeks, so my presence here will likely be limited. Three weeks is the longest vacation time I've taken since I became an adult, so I'm leery of taking my little KLŌS travel guitar due to space restrictions. I likely won't miss it if I don't, because my time promises to be full and my hands filled with camera gear rather than guitars.

Which means I'm in the preliminary packing and locking-down-the-house stage. I mulched the garden yesterday, and today I'm out getting things I need to carry (portable/disposable water bottle, travel-size toothpaste, etc.). I keep praying the mask restrictions will be dropped, but it doesn't appear that's going to happen. At least not on the outbound trip. Maybe on the return? Still, I got boosted, and even bought an in-home test kit just to show that I'm green-lighted to go.

The weather keeps playing with us. This is an awkward time of year. I say we have summer sun and winter winds. Make up your freakin' mind, will ya?

OK, I'm off. Lots to cover on my to-do list. Be well, everyone!

I love the Sunday threads, even though I not always reply.

Had a strenuous week, dealing with huge stress levels is nearly killing me. I’m so tired I couldn’t even play Rummikub with my wife’s relatives last night. Fell asleep in the sofa.

Anyway, the band finally started to practice regularly and I even lack finger stamina to solo on my drummer’s tempo. F..k covid! Can’t wait to start being fit to gig again.

Other than that, came to my parents’ for lunch and to grab another guitar (left my red strat at the tech’s for a cap change). Later I’ll play some Stones covers and have a few Michelobs while I cook some sausage and beans for dinner. Luckily I got a fresh bottle of Frank’s Red Hot to go with the grub.

Tough week at the office ahead but I don’t wanna think about it right now.

    Enjoy your Subday, friends!

went out and saw a band last night, had a great time but my phone almost died on me. Left to go to another place that has a cable I've used to charge my phone before, except their cable was broken. Had just enough juice to summon a ride.

nothing much planned, some cleaning. The electricians came on Friday and while not everything is rewired at least the priority stuff ie open boxes, loose receptacles, dodgy splices, miscellaneous stuff have been fixed/cleaned up. A bunch of GFI receptacles were put in. I've yet to play plugged in to see how the noise situation is doing. I'm not expecting any miracles, as there are still many outlets with open ground. I have a good outlet in the music room area. Time to finish cleaning up and get the room going.

the weather has been schizoid AF. We'll have rain/mist all day and there's absolutely nothing about it in the forecast. Or pouring rain one minute followed by blazing sun. Apart from last Monday, it has been milder. Won't be long before we have to start the lawnmower for the season. Still don't dare take the snowblower out of the garage for another couple weeks. I'm not taunting the winter gods.

I know what that stress is like. This week my wife had her third surgery and biopsy after her double mastectomy since Thanksgiving of 2020 and we’re not getting a lot of sleep as she handles the post operative demands for successful healing. At least we got to spend a great Sunday morning sipping a Bloody Mary or three with several of our really good friends. Life is good, eh?

I'll add your wife to my prayer list, Sir.

Heartfelt wishes for her speedy and complete recovery.

Thank you, Mr. Cane! This was a tweeking of previous work so all is good. It is very hard for her to get a good night’s sleep right now and that has a tendency to keep me up with her so we’re functioning on 3-4 hours of sleep each night.

Just make sure you get the "é" correct.
