1969 Sonic Blue Mustang - with a contour body, not slab

Hi there,

I’ve been setting up my wife’s 1969 Fender Mustang and it’s a bit of a mystery to me. When she bought it in 1999, the shop said it was from 1967, but it has a contour - not slab - body which wasn’t released until 1969. The thing is, I haven’t seen another 1969 contoured Mustang in anything other than the Competition colors. It definitely hasn’t been refinished and the neck plate has a sn# that dates it to early 1969. What do you think? Is this basically a Competition Mustang in Sonic Blue?
