I was in Australia recently on ANZAC Day (ANZAC is an acronym for Ausstralia/New Zealand Army Corps). It is the most important holiday in both countries and they take it seriously. In the U. S. today (May 27, 2024) is Memorial Day, which is much like ANZAC Day on steroids. However, many Americans have forgotten the reason we observe Memorial Day. It is to honor the brave fallen who died in service to the country.

So, today, wherever you are, take 90 seconds of silence at 3:00 PM to remember those who gave all so that we may enjoy a three day weekend, barbecue and time with family. They can't.
