Always be on a look out for this. Spent a few hours listening to demos of pups as well as playing.
I knew the guitar in my arsenal was my Tele, but when playing this evening, the neck was too quiet, slightly wooly, and the bridge ice picky. Not a characteristic of that guitar.

I started second guessing myself. Then I chose do do a simple recording.

Well the recording proved my memory right and what my ears were hearing during that time playing live wrong. It was what?s needed. I wondered why then realized I?ve been critically listening to tones at a low to med volume for the previous 7-8 hrs.

Maybe it?s not so much ear fatigue as it is brain related audio fatigue.
I wonder how producers deal with this? Oh wait, they go back and listen with fresh ears (or is it a fresh mind).
