I've wanted a mandocello for YEARS. I just can't get over the price tag, even for an imported model.

Well picked up the Firebird today after a pup replacement. Sounds and plays great. Unfortunately got got bitten by something just traded in this AM. Fender CS 60 Tele. 3 tone SB with a dark RW board. Has 50HW pups listed on the COA. The neck pup is no slouch. It?s on its way home with me.
im done. I have to be done.

Seriously , I?m out of room. The closet for cased instruments I had to arrange horizontally (pain in the but if you want one closer to the bottom), rather than vertically as was previous.
I can maybe get 1 more on the walls in the room. Will check tomorrow.

I'm in the same boat. If I didn't have three guitars on stands in my living/playing room, I'd be SOL as far as storage space in my guitar room. And my attic can't stand another shipping carton.
That said, I'm this close to pulling the trigger on a new Guild Traveler. A collaboration between Guild and Traveler Guitar. All mahogany (no HPL) in a tiny form factor with gig bag. I mean he77, I still have GC gift cards to burn...

just some packs of Super Slinky EB strings that I used GC gear card points to get. Pink package, no pics required (I hope )

Damn, got bit again by a stupid deal of the day. Squire Classic Vibe Late 60s Jazz Bass in Lake Placid Blue. Heh, it was 300 shipped and my only basses with a somewhat Jazz pup set up is a fret less J Bass with tape wounds and a Spector with an active PJ setup.
I can do “growl” with the Ric, but now I have something dedicated to that tone.
For non bass players, I wish I could have a better analogy without referencing esoteric people. Think Ric - early Rush, Jazz - late Rush.

I was at Guitar Center yesterday playing small body acoustic guitars with cutaways and pickups yesterday.
I was thoroughly impressed with this Alvarez, and it was on sale for $429.
It had a couple of bad frets, 10th and 12th, so brought it the repair counter and opened the discussion.
At some point the guy just took off and was swamped by 3 other customers needing assistance.
No need to get excited. I just quietly left and several hours later did something I never do. I saw it online at Musician's Friend for the same deal and ordered it before I knew what I was doing.
Sure hope it's a good one when it shows up.
I'm not throwing the boxes away immediately!

That's a nice looking guitar, and a terrific price! Over the past year or two, I've been fascinated by the less expensive, non-Big Three guitar makers. I had an Alvarez that was a superb guitar, but I sold it because it was bigger than I wanted at the time. I paid $381.59 to a seller on eBay. Brand new, in the box. A gorgeous guitar (Alvarez has some of the shiniest finishes) with a terrific sound and action. But, like I said, too large for my tastes.
My recent purchase was the Ibanez AAM50CE, which is a keeper. Also from Guitar Center, but I didn't need (or get) any help from the store drones and it's a keeper, so the story ends there.
But my point is that I think one can get a perfectly fine guitar for under $500.

Gretsch Electromatic double neck steel guitar console. Made in 1955. (my oldest piece). Need to work a bit on the electronics.
Having issues getting a photo to post.
Here's a cross forum post that shows it.

Yep. It has legs. (It?s a console). I need to learn to play one. I have 3 Pink Floyd and 2 Jackson Browne songs to learn. I?m leaning towards one neck in ?Em and other in G9

I got this for my Hummingbird acoustic after having strap issues. So far so good.
Gone is that great sounding Guild OM in rosewood. In is a Martin 000-28EC that is exceptional.
I’ll be selling my Parker Fly to make up the difference.
The EC Start did noting for me. 8 lbs to start with. Yeah it has that active circuit. If I like it that much I’ll put into one of my other Strats.

I heard somewhere else that BuildYourOwnClone is going out of business. They're selling off at 40% off.
So I placed an order for a mini fuzz pedal kit. I've had a bug in my ear to re-examine fuzz - it and I don't really get along. So worst case I'll have some fun building it, and sell it.
But I figure it's worth a try again.

Wow, this thread's been quiet for over a month. What's up with everyone, you all stop buying stuff? :)
Last week Stew Mac was having a sale on their pedal kits, plus free shipping, so after the foulup with the BYOC order I placed that was unplaced I was still having a jones for a kit.
So I ordered up StewMac's version of the AnalogMan SunFuzz. It came in yesterday.
Looks like a pretty simple box to put together, and I'm looking forward to getting to work on it, though between work, the kiddo's hockey schedule and the usual things of living and home ownership, I'm not quite sure when I'm going to eek out the time.

Well, I almost had an entry for this thread, except that I was out when FedEx stopped by. It irks me a little that when FedEx says a delivery is coming they will only say it will arrive "by 8:00pm." It was so nice today (we're expecting 80?+ temperatures for Halloween!) I decided to go for a walk at 12:30, after lunch. Five miles and 100 minutes later, I returned home to find the dreaded "door tag" there. No recourse, but to wait tomorrow, which is Halloween. I feel like I'm being quarantined again, as I can't leave my home until the driver arrives.
So, tomorrow, I hope to have an entry here.

OK, NOW it's time to add the latest. Yesterday FedEx "tricked" me by showing up when I was out and needed my signature, so today they arrived and "treated" me to this great new guitar. It's a Lowden S-35c, handmade in Ireland. Red cedar top and walnut back and sides. No electronics, but none are needed, as Lowden guitars are bright, and LOUD. Even for its size, this is a monster guitar. Oddly enough, it's wider at the nut than I normally like, but Lowden guitars are easy for me to play. Not cheap, but worth every penny! Even the case is a tank! SIX latches and a bucketful of padding!
It has an "invisible" pickguard which is why there is a small reflection below the soundhole.

Now that?s a fine heirloom instrument !! Many congrats. If you do decide to put electronics in it, checkout LR Baggs HiFi. It?s their under bridge plate transducer(ala K&K). I like it better than the K&K (not as boomy) as well as better than the Anthem.
They are getting ready to ship a new version of that with a mic as well. It?s a chunk of change more.

Five piece neck with a volute, very sheik! Appears quarter sawn. That thing should be pretty indestructible.

Well I found what I want next. Already crafted a deal. Now I just need the cash.
Fender CS 52 Tele relic in nocaster blonde. Has the Modded Nocaster wiring with the blend in position 1. Fell in love with it.
If this comes to be, the CS Tele Thinline goes to open G tuning.
Was thing of trading the CS Tele 60 but it’s does it’s own thing and I don’t want to lose that. Different pups and board. May due the modded nocaster wiring in that as well.

This was my latest music-related gadget...
This little box is about the size and weight of a guitar pedal, and does pretty much everything you need in a home playing session or even an ordinary gig.
It has amp/cab simulation, adjustable guitar effects and works nearly as simply as an early Boss Zoom model.
Don't get me wrong, I love tube amps and analog pedals, but these newer devices save you (and your back) a LOT of effort.
Just bought a Fender MIJ ST-67, & expect delivery tomorrow. I'll most likely post pics over the w/end
