My White Stratocaster

OK, here's a try to see if I can get the images to work. You can click on the thumbnails to see full-size. (I hope!)

This is an '89, I bought it new at the House of Guitars. Lace Sensor/TBX removed and replaced with Gen 1 noiseless many, many years ago. As you can see, poly DOES yellow over the years! This thing is OLY white and was pure white when I bought it. It's really evident in the "handshake" area and you can see where it has worn through on the forearm cut. There's actually just a teeny but of wood showing on the edge. All wear and tear is authentic. This guitar has held up remarkably well for all the abuse it's taken. The original HSC has pretty much disintegrated over the years. Lot's of duct tape involved. When she goes out usually goes into the anvil.

IMHO American Standard/Series/Professional is the ultimate workhorse Stratocaster.

Easy to play, easy to set up, easy to service, great tone palette, and still classic enough. Schultz, Blanda and Smith have done it right.

The "handshake area" of a guitar is where the neck meets the body. It's where the player's hand automatically lands when they pick it up or it gets handed to them.

When evaluating a vintage guitar it's one of the first things we look at since it's very hard to fake that patina, and none of the fakes usually have it. When you blacklight it if it's a fake or a refin it will be instantly apparent.
