Lindy's "Woodstock 69" pickups?

i heard that these were merely vintage hots set upside down in their covers, and made for a custom japanese order. true?

has anyone tried them? differences between Vintage Hots?? what do you think?

I had a set of these and I also had the understanding that they were just Vintage Hots with a reverse stagger. I thought they were ok but they didn't hold any magic for me. They had a fairly hard edge to them which keeps me from using the word "sweet" to describe them. I much prefer the Fender Custom 54's, especially on the bridge pup with a bassplate.
