Currently listening to the best live album ever produced:
Live at Fillmore East!
Rest Easy, Brothers! We love you!
while looking up the song (Directly from my heat to you) I came across the original record by Little Richardhttp://<iframe width="855" height="4...lt;/iframe>
youtubes of Jake Shimabukuro on ukulele
"Live and learn and flip the burns"
Mehldau's version of Radiohead's Paranoid Android is stellar
"...pray do not imagine that those who make the noise are the only inhabitants of the field;
that, of course, they are many in number; or that, after all, they are other than the little,
shriveled, meagre, hopping, though loud and troublesome, insects of the hour."
-Edmund Burke
did I post Moontan by Golden Earring before? I believe so but that was the US release version
I'm listening to the UK release version, with 2 tunes I never heard before, and it has 6 songs versus our 5.
Heh, I rather like this version. Thanks, Spotify.

If we'd known we were going to be the Beatles, we'd have tried harder.--George Harrison
A very funny song about a bad hoodoo

The "This is Johnny Cash" playlist on Spotify.
Took the dog Keevo out for a ride in the truck on a sunny day. I had on my Stetson, and he had on a bandit's bandana. We were faux cowboys but had a good time. Johnny Cash, whom I've loved since I was a small child (6), gave us the perfect soundtrack.
We live in a depressingly, boring, small-ish town. We might be nuts, but dressing up like a cowboy just spices shit up a bit.

Doing some research on Pat Martino (my guitar teacher's professor), I came across this video of Martino and Les Paul in duet!
thanks, I enjoyed that

been looking for a live performance with this guitar but no luck so far. there's a high likelihood Venus Isle was recorded with this guitar (he had already sold the Virginia 54 at this point) though, and I personally dont feel like it gets much better than this song in terms of showcasing a "typical" EJ song. Maybe that ACL live Trail of Tears?
this sounds like the full everything on clean sound from him too: Echoplex AND DMM in places, compressor and of course the chorus.

I need to dig out my headphones, my computer is close enough to the bed that I could listen lying down. Maybe if I can't play and record I can listen and try to learn.

woke up with the song "Happy" by the Rolling Stones on my mind, so I spun up "Exile on Main Street" on Spotify.

Thundercat!
A few days ago, I was showering and remembered a line from a song about "Tonight's the night I go to all the parties on my street. I wash my hair and I tell myself I look just neat." Ah, yes.
Joe Jackson "Look Sharp" Good old Spotify set me up and I've been listening to it the last 3 days. I didn't realize just how many of the songs on this album got airplay back in the day, which would be before 1992 when I stopped listening to terrestrial radio. I had forgotten how good this album was.
1979. Dang. And it was his debut album too.
